In 2003 my sister Julie had a Schnauzer named Dolby. I drew a couple of drawings of Dolby for her as a gift. She framed them and hung one in her living room. While visiting for the holidays, I saw the nicely framed Dolby drawing and that's when the light bulb went on. Upon returning home after the trip, I dug up my drawings from the dog series and hung a few up. Viola, I sold one of them to a visitor a few weeks later.
I quite my day job soon after this and I've been drawing pet portraits and other subjects full time ever since.
Today, I can't imagine not drawing and making art!
